Whether you seek information about pending bills impacting community associations, wish to modify existing law or introduce new legislation, the Community Advocacy Network (CAN) is here to help. CAN is a statewide not-for-profit advocacy network dedicated to promoting positive community association legislation while advising legislators to resist the urge to micromanage and over-regulate private residential communities. CAN works through its website, email alerts and tools such as the “Capitol Connection” email system to mobilize association leaders and residents with the information and resources needed to play a meaningful part in the legislative process.
Attorney Donna Berger, the Executive Director of CAN, has over fifteen (15) years of experience representing community associations and advocating on their behalf. Ms. Berger is a registered lobbyist who has testified before the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate regarding bills that impact members of common interest ownership communities, is a published author on these topics as well as a frequent guest on radio and television interviews devoted to association issues.
CAN members are encouraged to contact Ms. Berger, at no additional charge, throughout the year to discuss legislative proposals and any content found on the CAN website and/or which is the subject of a CAN alert. We welcome the opportunity to organize your community’s collective voice. Please contact Donna Berger at (954) 315-0372 or via email at dberger@canfl.com to learn what CAN can do for you and your community.
